In the story of Gideon, the children of Israel had turned away from worshipping and depending on God. As a result, they were suffering at the hands of their enemy, the Midianites. When they finally turned again to God and cried out for mercy, God heard and answered in a way no one could have imagined. God chose Gideon, the least likely candidate, to be the one who would deliver Israel.

You and your child will both be fascinated by the unusual instructions the Lord shared with Gideon that gave his small army victory over the thousands of Midianite soldiers who attacked.
