E-BOOK INFORMATION
An e-book is a book in an electronic format. It is downloaded to a computer, PC, Mac, laptop, tablet, smartphone or any other kind of reading device, and is read on the screen.
Cost of an e-book:
The cost of the e-book has to be individually determined, because many factors have to be considered (e.g., graphics used inside the book, the font style, design elements inside the book, the length of the book in its final state, type of book and the finished cover). If it is straight text with no embellishments (graphics, pictures, tables, etc.) it is usually about $1.75 per page. However, if there are graphics, pictures, or inserts of any kind, the price can be as high as $3 per page, depending on the complexity of the layout. These extra charges can only be determined once the internal graphic work is completed. Also, DRB can produce books that are offered ONLY in the e-book format. If this is your preference, let us know.
Difference between the two main types of e-books:
There are two main files for e-books (Mobi & E-pub). The Mobi file is for Amazon Kindle readers only. This file can only be uploaded to the Amazon Kindle website. The E-pub file is used for a lot of other readers such as Barnes & Noble Nook readers, some phones, and a few other readers. The E-pub file can also be used for sales on an individual website. E-books no longer require a unique, individual ISBN, because the companies that host them have their own numbering system.
Other types of files available for additional cost:
There are other types of e-book files that can be purchased after the main files are created. They are Microsoft Reader (.lit), Palm Reader (.pdb), Sony eReader (.lrf), Adobe e-book Reader (.pdf), DNL Reader (.dnl).

It is very simple and easy to purchase and download an e-book. People living in big modernized cities, in a remote village in a faraway country or on a small island, can equally access an e-book. It takes them the same amount of time to purchase and download an e-book, provided they have an Internet connection.
It is possible to purchase an e-book 24 hours a day, every day of the year, from the comfort of your own house, office or wherever you are accessing the internet. All you need is a laptop, tablet, smartphone, or a reading device, and wireless Internet connection.
